Position Overview
- The role is to work within the Innovations team to develop new products in the field of Welding
and Plasma Cutting Power supplies and peripherals. - The role will be to design ECAD design of PCBAs through Altium Tools
- To be the complete process handling from scratch to PCB release and assembly.
Duties & Responsibilities - Evaluate new features and functions that are made available within existing or potential ECAD
tools to judge their potential benefits. - Be the primary point of technical contact with ECAD tool vendor to support and influence their
roadmaps to best meet the needs of the Amazon EE community. - Work with ECAD tool vendors to resolve issues with vendor supplied code, and advocate for
enhancements and bug fixes. - Evangelize and drive adoption of ECAD tools though process development and training
Define best practices though documentation and requirements definition for development of
ECAD automation. - Deliver well written business requirements documents, system configuration documents,
detailed functional design documents, user training documents and implementation documents. - Support engineering tools and process automations by collaborating with teams responsible for
working with Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and CAD
systems. - Interact with global Electrical/Production Test Engineers (India, Sweden, Poland and USA) to
accomplish design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test
(DFT) according to industry standards such as IEC, IPC etc.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in Library creation and PCB layout design in Altium is mandatory. Cadence is
optional. - Basic understanding of working with Control Electronics design
- Strong understanding of PCB layout techniques and Manufacturing constraints.
- Sound knowledge in Component selection and Gerber release.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC and mitigation techniques
- Sound knowledge in maintaining the PCB design rules, clearance and creepages according to IPC
standards and IEC standards on High Power PCB designs.
Experience Requirements
- Should have >10 years experience in the relevant field (for Bachelor of Engineering)
- Should have >8 years experience in the relevant field (for Master of Engineering)
- Preferrable to have experience in Power Converter design
Education Requirements
- Masters/bachelor’s degree in engineering in Electrical/Electronics or Power Electronics
Engineering - Clear communication in English
Mobility & Travel Requirements
- Willing to travel to onsite for design reviews and PCB vendor places.
