Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced academic and technical leader to serve as the senior anchor for our upcoming B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & IIoT. This role requires an individual with strong applied technical depth—capable of teaching advanced concepts, conducting research, and hands-on commissioning of live industrial laboratory equipment, specifically on our SMC AIT-400 platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Curriculum: Deliver core courses across B.Tech and MBA/PGDM programs; design syllabi, lesson plans, and CO–PO attainment maps; develop lab manuals for the AIT-400, Robotics, and Edge Computing labs.
- Lab Ownership & OEM Delivery: Serve as faculty owner for the AIT-400 AI Machine Lab; obtain OEM trainer certifications (SMC, FANUC, Schneider Electric); co-deliver technical modules in partnership with IIT Ropar.
- Research & Innovation: Publish at least 2 Scopus/SCI-indexed papers annually; submit external grant proposals (DST, SERB, MeitY, AICTE); supervise postgraduate/undergraduate capstone projects and drive IP/patent generation.
- Industry Interface: Source real-world industrial projects for students, mentor cohorts, and prepare candidates for technical placement in AI, robotics, and industrial automation.
Mandatory Qualifications (AICTE Norms)
- Education: Ph.D. in AI, CSE, ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Robotics, or allied engineering field, with a First Class M.E./M.Tech.
- Experience: 8 to 10 years of combined teaching, research, and industry experience (minimum 2 years post-Ph.D.).
- Publications: Minimum 06 research publications in SCI, Scopus, or UGC-CARE listed journals.
- Supervision: Demonstrated experience supervising PG/doctoral research.
Core Technical Competencies Required
- AI & Machine Learning: Deep Learning (CNNs, Transformers), MLOps, Python/PyTorch/TensorFlow.
- Robotics & Automation: Kinematics, trajectory planning, ROS/ROS2, cobots, PLC, HMI, SCADA, electro-pneumatics.
- Computer Vision: Defect detection, dimensional inspection, camera calibration, OpenCV/vision libraries.
- IIoT, Edge & Security: Edge gateways, OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, Digital Twins, Predictive Maintenance, ISA/IEC 62443 OT cybersecurity standards.
