Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Direction & Design Leadership
* Establish, direct, and evolve the overarching design philosophy, aesthetic framework, and seasonal collection concepts.
* Translate macro trends across world affairs, international fashion, art, and architecture into distinctive, high-appeal jewellery themes.
* Author clear, strategic design briefs for the CAD artists, modelers, and technical jewellery designers, guiding their creative execution with a keen eye for detail.
* Ensure all lines reflect the brand’s luxury positioning, quality benchmarks, and signature aesthetic.
2. Product Merchandising & Assortment Strategy
* Formulate comprehensive range plans, category mixes, and target price ladders aligned with multi-store revenue goals and regional store profiles.
* Balance assortments strategically across core collections, trend-led capsules, high-value bridal/statement pieces, and fast-moving daily wear.
* Monitor store-level inventory velocity, sell-through rates, stock turn, and gross margins to inform replenishment, design revisions, and future assortment plans.
* Partner with sourcing and production units to ensure design feasibility, cost efficiency, and timely product rollouts.
3. Team Leadership & Department Management
* Lead, mentor, and build an integrated team of designers, CAD specialists, merchandisers, and inventory planners.
* Foster a culture of creative curiosity and commercial discipline, mentoring team members on trend forecasting, presentation skills, and market awareness.
* Oversee workflow management, collection calendars, prototyping cycles, and go-to-market timelines.
4. Brand Amplification & Retail Integration
* Collaborate closely with Marketing, Visual Merchandising (VM), and Retail Operations to ensure product storytelling flows seamlessly into store displays, campaigns, and digital channels.
* Equip store managers and retail teams with product narratives, material highlights, and styling guides for new collection launches.
* Represent the brand’s design vision at trade shows, customer trunk shows, and VIP retail events.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
* Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in design management, product merchandising, brand creative direction, or luxury lifestyle retail. Direct bench jewellery design background is not mandatory; an instinct for luxury aesthetics and a genuine passion for the jewellery category is required.
* Dual Skillset: Strong creative sensibilities balanced with sound commercial, merchandising, and inventory planning capabilities.
* Broad Perspective: Active awareness of international fashion weeks, architectural design, global culture, and luxury consumer trends.
* Leadership & Influence: Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams, driving operational timelines, and collaborating across retail sales, marketing, and supply chain.
* Education: Degree in Merchandising, Design, Fashion Management, Architecture, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or Business Administration.
