About the Role
We are seeking an exceptionally qualified academic and industry leader to serve as the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) / Head of Department for our AI, Automation & Built Environment Technologies vertical.
This role bridges conventional academic excellence with cutting-edge OEM industry integration (SMC Corporation, Schneider Electric, FANUC, Lucas-Nülle, Bharat Electronics, and IIT Ropar). The CAO will own academic governance, statutory compliance, laboratory utilization, research agenda, and placement outcomes across five core undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs.

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
1. Academic & Statutory Norms (AICTE Level 14)
- Ph.D. in AI, CS, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Building Services, or Management with a technology specialization.
- First Class at Bachelor’s or Master’s level (M.E./M.Tech. or 2-year full-time MBA/PGDM).
- 10+ years of total experience in teaching, research, or industry (minimum 3 years as Associate Professor or above).
- 10+ research publications in SCI, Scopus, or UGC-CARE listed journals.
- Ph.D. Supervision: Successfully guided at least 2 Ph.D. scholars (as supervisor/co-supervisor) or recognized guide status with an approved university.
2. Dual-Track Requirement (Mandatory Evaluation)
- Track A (Industry & Technology): Minimum 3 years of hands-on or leadership experience in industrial automation, AI deployment, robotics, IIoT, or building automation within a live plant, OEM, facilities operator, or technology consultancy.
- Track B (Academic & Governance): Proven leadership of an academic department/program with direct accountability for P&L, budget, faculty management, AICTE approvals, and NBA/NAAC accreditation cycles.
Key Performance Expectations
- Accreditation & Compliance: Ensure zero adverse findings in AICTE, university, NBA, and NAAC audits; maintain 1:2:6 cadre ratio.
- Lab Utilization: Achieve ≥70% utilization of the state-of-the-art SMC AIT-400 AI Machine Lab and allied facilities.
- Industry & Placements: Drive high-value placement outcomes and industry internships via our global hiring network (Schneider Electric, SMC, FANUC, JLL, CBRE, Qualcomm, Blue Star, etc.).
- Research & Revenue: Supervise doctoral research, submit funded proposals (DST, SERB, AICTE, MeitY), and drive corporate training revenue.
