Core Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Business Development: Identifying new opportunities by calling on and building relationships with contractors, engineering firms, and building owners.
- Technical Consultation: Conducting site surveys and assessments to understand specific requirements, such as airflow needs and energy efficiency goals.
- Proposal & Estimation: Preparing technical presentations, accurate cost estimations, and competitive project bids.
- Project Liaison: Collaborating with internal design and installation teams to ensure the final system meets technical specifications and building codes.
- Sales Closure: Managing the end-to-end sales cycle, from negotiation and contract signing to ensuring final payments from clients.
- Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Most roles require 2 to 5 years of experience in technical sales, specifically within the refrigeration industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fundamentals (compressors, chillers, airside), heat load calculations, and often CRM software or ERP systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills are essential for managing client relationships.
- Mobility: A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits (often 50% or more of the time) is a standard requirement.
