Job Description
1. Raw material inspection:
- Conduct quality checks on incoming raw materials, including flour, sugar, fats, and packaging, to ensure they meet specifications.
- Analyze ingredients for moisture content, protein, particle size, and potential contaminants.
- Reject substandard or non-compliant materials and report issues to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager or procurement team.
2. Inspections and Audits:
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify quality issues, non- compliance, and areas for improvement.
Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with
regulatory requirements and industry certifications.
3. In-process control:
- Monitor production line processes, including mixing, forming, and baking, to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Take samples at various stages to perform tests on dough properties, such as viscosity and elasticity.
- Verify that machine settings and temperatures are within the required critical limits.
- Conduct visual inspections for consistent shape, size, color, and texture. including
4. Finished product testing:
- Perform comprehensive quality tests on baked and cooled biscuits, weight, dimension, color, and moisture content.
- Conduct sensory evaluations, including taste, texture, and aroma, to ensure the product meets specifications.
- Test for packaging integrity, including proper sealing, coding, and labeling.
- Use specialized equipment, such as metal detectors, to ensure product safety.
5. Laboratory and documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests, inspections, and quality control activities.
- Prepare and generate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are functioning correctly.
- Investigate and document any deviations, out-of-specification results, or product complaints.
6. Food safety and compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety standards, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in and support internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for all quality and safety incidents.
7.Customer Complaint Management:
Investigate customer complaints related to product quality, identify rootcauses, and implement corrective actions.
8.Quality Metrics and Continuous Improvement:
Monitor and analyze quality metrics and trends, generating reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to food quality and safety.
9. Guidance to Production & Maintenance team:
Guide the production team & Maintenance about quality control issues to enhance the quality of the product.
Discuss the day to day in-house quality complaint with production & maintenance team to find out
Maintain the chemicals required for testing in laboratories.
Maintain laboratory equipment in proper condition.
10. Training and Development:
Develop and conduct training programs for employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Ensure ongoing development of the quality team’s skills and knowledge.
